I'll be honest: when I first started handling lighting orders, I assumed a smart WiFi bulb was just a standard LED bulb with a radio glued on. Here's where I'll say something that might sound scolding. I don't think small orders should be treated like a burden. A volunteer spotlight for a community center, a mission spotlight for a small church, three boxes of 100W LEDs for a nonprofit office, these are real projects with real deadlines. The vendors who took my first $200 orders seriously are the ones I still call for $20,000 orders. Small doesn't mean unimportant. It means potential.

Which Should You Order?

If you're replacing a dead bulb and you need it to work the second you install it, get the standard Feit Electric LED bulbs 100-watt. You don't need an app, you don't need a strong WiFi signal, and a spare bulb is cheap.

If you're setting up a small office, a storefront, or a common area where scheduling and remote control will genuinely save labor, go with the smart WiFi bulbs. Just budget time for setup, and if you change your router later, remember the fix: change wifi on Feit Electric app via the device settings, or delete and re-add the device.

If your client asks about plants, tell them: can pothos grow in low light? Yes, but it won't be a jungle. A normal LED near the plant is fine. Don't oversell grow lights unless the customer actually wants faster growth.

And if your order is small? Don't apologize for it. A volunteer spotlight might be $150 today. Treat it like the start of a longer relationship, not a nuisance.
